Systematic yeast infection

Systemic yeast infection Symptoms in Men & Women

I battled with yeast infections (candida) for a very, very long time. The information that finally cured me? Get it here... It's all you'll ever need, trust me.

Systemic yeast infection is a serious infection affecting many people across the world. This infection is common among patients who are suffering from diabetes, leukemia, cancer, and AIDS. Systemic yeast infection is otherwise referred to as systemic candidiasis. It affects the immune system, and of those who are infected with it, about 45% do not survive. Even common vaginal and oral yeast infections may lead to a serious illness and become resistant to regular medication. The fungus that is normally present in the human body will begin to penetrate the areas where it is moist, and cause the infection. Systemic yeast infection is characterized by a proliferation of Candida albicans and affects people whose immune systems have gone awry.  People with these diseases in particular have low immunity and become highly prone to systemic yeast infection.

Symptoms of systemic yeast infection:

Usually there will be a burning sensation with red areas on the skin followed by itching and general irritation. But as these symptoms are common to other infections too, it is not that easy to diagnose systemic yeast infection. The general dizziness and discomfort, however, will help you distinguish it from other infections. As soon as these symptoms manifest themselves, it is best to consult a doctor.

Systemic yeast infection is also different from ordinary yeast infections in that in the former, candida spreads all over the body, including vital organs such as the kidney, liver, heart, and the genital tract. It even affects the joints. Those who have low white blood cell counts, also known as neutropenia, are extremely vulnerable to this infection.

Since this infection may be lethal if left untreated, the choice of treatment should be well-thought out.  Oral medications are usually more effective than any other treatment for systemic yeast infection. Examples of these antifungal drugs are fluconazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole, and fungizone. Antifungal drugs are very strong and can only be purchased with a prescription from a doctor. A battery of tests is also taken for this particular infection since the symptoms are not specific enough.

Systemic yeast infection in men:

Systemic yeast infection does not only affect women; it affects men as well. Although it is always advised that a doctor should be consulted as soon as symptoms of systemic yeast infection appear, men don’t usually do this because they feel embarrassed. In addition, they also get symptoms which are not the same as women get. Here is a list of the symptoms of systemic yeast infection in men:

  • Tiredness and fatigue
  • Depression, anxiety, and panic attacks
  • Thrush on penis
  • Eye pain with blurred vision
  • Inability to concentrate
  • Headaches
  • Short-term memory problems
  • Sinus problems
  • Painful muscles and joints
  • White-coated tongue with sore throat
  • Acid reflux
  • Blisters on throat

If this systemic infection is left as such without any treatment, then it might lead to serious problems like cancer. This infection can also crop up because of a partner who is affected by this infection. Other than these, men are usually infected due to the following:

  • Antibiotics use
  • Eating foods excessively
  • Drinking tap water
  • Drinking alcohol, and the use of drugs
  • Too much sugar in the diet

Systemic yeast infection in women:

Systemic yeast infection in women occurs with itching and burning sensations, particularly in the vagina. They will feel some pain while urinating. Systemic yeast infection often comes with a discharge from the vagina which may be clumpy, resembling curdled milk. Additionally, because of this infection, sexual intercourse becomes too painful for women.

If even after using ointments and consuming tablets for systemic yeast infection, there are no significant improvements found, then start following a strict diet in which foods like fruits rich in sugar, cheese, dried fruits, melons, peanuts, milk and other dairy products, and foods that are of high lactose content should be avoided in order to be cured from this serious disease.
